Urbanica is partnering with Transformations Solar for the PV array installation at 74 Highland eHomes. Transformations Solar is one of the leading expert in the field of solar installations in Massachusetts.

For 74 Highland. each townhome will be equipped with a 6kW photovoltaic system that will produce an estimated annual output of 7,226kWh. The panel specified for this project will be the high quality 280W PV modules by LG Electronics.

The homeowners have an option to buy or lease the system. For the purchase option, the payback on the total system cost is estimated at 5-6 years. For the lease option, the monthly payment is as low as $89/month. This represents over 40% savings over the Eversource (formerly NSTAR) electric utility rates.

More importantly, the environmental benefits from the solar array for each townhome is equivalent to:

• The annual greenhouse gas emissions from 11,864 miles driven by an average passenger vehicle
• The CO2 emissions from the burning of 5,352 lbs of coal
• The carbon sequestered by 4.1 Acres of U.S. forest in one year
• The carbon sequestered by 128 tree seedlings grown for 10 years
